Male Menopause or Andropause
Andropause is the term used to describe the menopause-like symptoms in men. It is a common condition in men after 50. This condition is triggered due to the decline in the hormone generation due to ageing. Typical symptoms of the Andropause are:
- Tiredness, and diminished sex-drive.
- Feeling weak, and absence of strong erections.
- Mood swings or depression.
When you observe the following symptoms, it is good to get a diagnose for other sexual debility conditions which may worsen the symptoms. A diagnosis to exclude the conditions like ED, PE or any other sexual debility conditions help the expert give you a customised method to handle Andropause. If you are advised hormone replacement therapy seek second opinion from an expert. It is not advisable to go for HRT as it may up the risk of prostate cancer. This condition may be handled well if both the partners are willing to cooperate. Sometimes, other conditions like cardiac ailments or BP may be interfering with your hormonal balance. Hence, it is good to check if the Andropause is triggered due to consumption of wrongly suited medicines
- Like for example, if you are on medication to treat depression or impotence related ailments check if the medication is worsening the symptoms and switch to alternative medicines.
- Quit smoking and alcohol consumption.
- Eat healthily and exercise regularly to maintain overall fitness.
- If you are battling depression or anxiety practise Yoga and Pranayama to build up your body defence. This helps tide over many underlying issues and give you overall health.
